"they had adventured into the forest"

and Disneyland's California Adventure is just that...an adventure! Every time we go it's a blast. There are so many things to do and there is something fun for every age group. Where, other than Disney, can you zip line in the forest, ride amazing roller coasters, eat at a 5 Star Restaurant, meet a real Princess or a Street Rat, cool off on a wild water ride, drive a race car, learn how sourdough bread is made, and watch a Broadway Style Show all in one day! Adventure COMPLETE! Checked off at least 6 BUCKET LIST items in an afternoon~ADVENTURE? Yaaaasssss!

Ariel's Grotto

Ariel's Grotto

Absolutely anyone who knows me can tell you I am Disney crazy! Disney will always be my first choice of amazing family adventure that is fun for everyone no matter your age...unless of course you really really hate...FUN!

One of the few complaints I have where Disney is concerned is the food offering available for children and teens. I have always felt restaurants treat children as if they are second-class citizens. My favorite example is the mac & cheese almost anywhere you take your children to eat. The macaroni and cheese is usually bland and should be only offered to people over 65. Nine times out of 10 we always have to ask for an extra side of cheese for macaroni and cheese when it is  not only bland but dry and absorbs the cheese so quickly it becomes tasteless.

Children today have a much better pallet. Children today also care about what they eat. Stop only offering mac & cheese and chicken nuggets to children at restaurants why not offer them steak, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli with cheese, and fresh sliced fruit instead of the old standby of mac & cheese or chicken nugget. How can we ask children to change their eating behavior if that's all there ever offered? Not to mention the cost is still a fortune and let's face it you're only getting Mac in cheese.

My second complaint is what's considered a children's meal and the age associated with it. A 10-year-old still likes to eat a well-made macaroni and cheese and they may not want a lobster salad. Make sure all patrons understand that if your child under the age of 14 give or  take would like an adult portion off of the children's menus it is available to them. You'll still be charged an arm and a leg but at least your children will eat the food.
Ariel's Grotto had to add sauce, veg was "tasteless" according to my 7 year old. Bummer...

But the plate itself is beautiful in the food looked great but that's about the most I could say. You're really paying to meet the princesses and if you're not happy with that then I would suggest you stand it a one hour line instead for each princess. Ariel's Grotto is still a very magical experience. Sorry Disney...hope you still let me in.

Anna & Elsa Disney's California Adventure

Anna and Elsa Disney's California Adventure 😍😍😍😍😍
I have to say we love Anna and Elsa! The return fast pass to get an autograph with Anna and Elsa is brilliant! Disney never forgets the important details. Even the wallpaper was from Arendelle. One little girl waiting to see the princesses (and as my daughter corrected, Elsa is the queen, not a princess) was lying on the floor next to a beautiful clock pretending to be Anna singing, tick-tock tick-tock. Her parents didn't get the reference to the movie but, I got it sister, I got it.

Say what you want about Disney, but Disney has the magic they haven't lost us yet keep it coming Disney we will be there! Happy 60th Anniversary!!!

Life is a highway and these kids wanted to ride it all night long! The lines may not be short but they are worth every minute. Disney has triumphed once again. If Route 66 is this gorgeous I can't wait to take that trip.
Thanks for the race Lightning McQueen!!!

We gave it four smiley faces instead of five because the lines are out of control. If you don't have a fast pass don't go until you get one.

San Diego Zoo

Too Crowded!!! Granted it's Spring Break but still... what is the maximum capacity of this place? We had to park more than a 1/4 mile away. In their defense it looks like they're building a parking structure. After all next year is there one hundredth anniversary and they are going to need to carve out some space. If you arrive any later than 10 AM you run the risk of all the animals being all asleep. They also tend to hide when it's really hot outside. One of the gorillas had a baby and it is utterly precious and a must, must see. As fun as it is to look at the polar bears it is not, repeat not fun to hike up and down the hill to see them! Our best recommendation the double-decker bus, free and included with the GoSan Diego card.

Crazy Burger San Diego CA
